Bourne
Today we learn of the sad death of Ernest Codling of Bourne who died today serving his country with the 1st 4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Ernest had joined the territorial force early in 1913 and was called up when war was declared. Our sympathies have been sent to Mr and Mrs John Codling of 3 Woodview Bourne for the sad loss of their son.
Today we also had news of the sad death of Abel seamen Cecil Armstrong Hornsey of Bourne. Cecil was serving with the Royal Navy on board H.M.S. Brisk when he was accidentally knocked overboard by the recoil of No 4 gun.
They will be missed by all, their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
