Today we pay our respects to Langtoft man Private George Porter 2862, 7th battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) who died of wounds on 21st June 1915.
George was the son of George and Elizabeth Porter of Langtoft.

Today we learn of the sad death of Pte. George Porter of Langtoft who died today serving his country with the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottsv and Derbys), wounded at the front and today died of wounds in Etaples.
He will be missed by all in the village, his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Today we learn of the sad death of Battery Sergeant William Edward Gay of Langtoft who died today serving his country with the 6th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. William had been in the Army for quite a number of years. Our condolences to his wife Lilly, his parents and his brother Henry who is also in the Army.
He will be missed by all in the village, his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
