    A MEMORIAL SERVICE was held on Sunday afternoon at Abbey Church for Company Sergt. Major george A. Holland, who was killed in action on November 25th.  The service was conducted by the Vicar, who gave an address based on the text. “Bear ye one another’s burdens.”  There was a good attendance of sympathising friends.  Mr W. R. Leary presided at the organ, the service being fully choral.

    According to a supplement to the “London Gazette” his Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to award nearly 2,400 Military Medals and 231 Meritorious Medals to non-commissioned officers and men of the British Army, and Australian, Newfoundland, and South Africian contingents, for bravery in the field.  The recipients include the following N.C.O.’s and men of the Lincolnshire Regiment:-
